Website

We have a new website! Please visit www.SGLTG.org and check us out.  On our site, you can find an events calendar that aggregates all of the meetup activities of SGLTG and sister-group SGLRG, information about our current sponsors and race reports. You can also register as a member of SGLTG and pay dues to become a dues paying member of SGLTG.

If you become a registered member of SGLTG, you will have access to a number of other website features:

  • our newsletter archives
  • an online store to purchase SGLTG gear
  • a SGLTG race calendar where you can see which races your teammates are planning to participate in
  • SGLTG race discounts
  • Sponsor discounts and benefits

2015 membership and dues information

We have created an official membership for SGLTG for $10/year that will get you a few perks:

1.    USAT Participation Accident Insurance Coverage covered while participating in Club activities

2.    Access to exclusive sponsor discounts offered to the group.

3.    Access to exclusive race discounts.

4.    Ability to purchase team kits and other gear.

5.    Ability to help shape the future of SGLTG at Club meetings and ability to run for Board of Director positions.

Our club and member safely is our highest priority.  For insurance coverage and liability reasons, all meetup.com events will be officially scheduled by an officer of SGLTG and all event leaders will be required to be registered members.  PLEASE NOTE: Spontaneous events or meetups listed through Facebook will NOT be considered official group events and will not be covered by the group’s insurance.

No one is paid or will profit to organize this group; all dues will go to support SGLTG activities.

Everyone is always welcome at our events.  If you love this group as much as we do, we hope you’ll decide to invest 10 of your hard-earned bucks to support us.

Elections

On February 9th, 2015, we will be holding elections to determine the new SGLTG Board of Directors. Please go to our shiny new website and register as a member and submit your 2015 dues so that you can take part. Voting will take place on Feb 9 at 7PM at Teddy’s Bigger Burger. You will be able to vote in person or by proxy.  To vote by proxy, please designate someone who will be present at the meeting to vote for you, and send us an email at [email protected] so we can give that person a ballot on your behalf.

List of Candidates:

  • Jeffrey Duncan
  • Deborah Haight
  • Chris Hatfield
  • Laura Hmelo
  • Tai Lee
  • Jonathan Nield
  • Sarah Sandquist
  • Ford Walker

Candidate statements are available on sgltg.org under Members Only>Elections 2015.

Committees!

Here is a great opportunity to help shape SGLTG in the upcoming year.  We are convening two committees:  an Activity Committee and a Kit Committee. If you are interested in helping out with kit selection and design, or if you are interested in being an activity or distance leader (swim, bike, run or sprint, Olympic, 70.3 or 140.6) and play an integral role in planning our 2015 program, please contact [email protected].

We are asking members of these committees to become registered members of SGLTG because 1) all activity leaders must be covered by our insurance policy and 2) kits will be available only to registered members.

Twitter

Please follow us on twitter @SGLTG.  Our account has changed, so even if you followed us in the past, please check back in and re-follow us.  Thanks!

New Sunday Hill Training Meetup

In addition to our regular Tuesday night hill ride (HTFU), we will be now be offering additional hill training ride on Sundays.  These rides will start from various locations on the Eastside.  Please see full details on Meetup.com for the next ride on Sunday Jan 25.

As always, Thank you to our wonderful sponsors!
